What’s ADA 2017? It is the Archiproducts Design Awards, an international design competition organized by Archiproducts, with aims to recognize, reward and celebrate design excellence across a broad range of categories.
This year Varaschin will take part in the second edition of ADA in the OUTDOOR category and the international judging panel will be composed by highly qualified architecture and design studios from all over the world.
The candidate product is the sunbed BAHÍA, designed by Calvi&Brambilla. This product is an example of minimal design, innovative technology and functionality: the structure consists of two parallel rounded sections supporting a light canvas called VAR#TEX, which a woven technical fabric for outdoor designed and produced exclusively by Varaschin. The fabric seems to be just leaned against the sunbed frame, thanks to the innovative fastening method of the textile to the lateral stanchion tubes.

How can a padded sofa withstand rain, UV rays and thermal excursion? This is one of the most frequently asked questions.
The answer is in the technology inside the sofa, which is the combination of research and experimentation, the discovery and testing of innovative and durable materials.
The padding is made up of Dry Feel® drainage rubber, an open cell foam that does not retain water and dries rapidly, combined with Dacron®, a synthetic textile fiber also used in the clothing industry and in the manufacture of sails and ropes. Both are breathable, odor-resistant, anti-mold and antibacterial.
The structure of the sitting is made of a native wood from tropical West Africa: the okumè wood. The okumè is very flexible and lightweight, but at the same time it guarantees a high durability over the years. It is water- and moisture repellent and all these properties make it ideal for the marine environment. To provide seat support and greater comfort, the structure is reinforced with elastic belts specially designed for outdoor use.
Another fundamental component of a good outdoor padded sofa is definitely the fabric: acrylic and water-repellent, dries 80% faster than other fabrics, resists UV rays and is easy to clean.

May 27th, 2017 – 100 is a whole and historic number.  And Giro d’Italia celebrates its centennial this year. It has been 107 years and 99 editions since that morning on May 13th, 1909,  the most important event of cycling world has become part of the history of our country. The route runs across Italy, from North to South and then back to the North again. This happens not just to prove the athletic ability of the participants but to give visibility to the Italian beauties and landscapes too.
Tomorrow, Giro d’Italia will reach our area and everything is already ready at Il Muro di Ca ‘del Poggio, a 17% grade slope which twists and turns through the wonderful Prosecco hills near the Treviso Prealps.

Bedonia, concrete, anthracite: are we talking about the construction industry? Absolutely not. These are the three new finishes for HPL table tops introduced this year by Varaschin Outdoor Therapy and presented during the last Salone del Mobile in Milan. The inspiration came from the need of a more materic finishing than the monochrome ones already offered by Varaschin: white, black, silk gray and corten, commonly known as “rust effect” finishing.

Bedonia finishing recalls the Bedonia stone, a uniform and hard Italian gray stone slightly blue-veined, normally used for floors, kitchen worktops and shower trays. Concrete is a well-known trend in the furniture sector since several years and gives the locations an industrial and sophisticated touch. Least but not last is the anthracite color, a very glamorous and chic finishing, which blends perfectly with bright colors and minimal design. All three new finishing options are already in production and available for sale.

EMMA is a reinterpretation of the iconic chair of everyday.
A familiar, traditional object, which becomes contemporary thanks to the introduction of modern details and innovative technologies.

The collection is suitable both indoor and outdoor use, depending on the choice of techniques and materials.
The injection molded bottom shell characterizes the seat, specifically designed to solve different functions: the insertion of the legs (eventually just a central one or a sled base), the engagement of elastic straps, the hooking of different types of backrest.
The seat, both in the indoor and outdoor version, is padded and covered in fabric with a recognizable stitching detail on the front. The legs have a very distinctive design and can be in painted aluminum, natural iroko wood or lacquered ash wood. The back, with or without armrests, is available in three versions: an aluminum frame covered with fabric or mélange weaved cord in three different colors or a frame in bent wood covered with fabric.
EMMA provides numerous combinations of seats, legs and backrests and is suitable for any type of situation and mood, for a modern and contemporary way of living spaces.

An exciting new project for a renewed partnership. Philippe Bestenheider, the famous Swiss designer already familiar to Varaschin because of Kente collection, develops an armchair called MAAT, which gives new verve to the traditional weaving technique. Its particular shape that narrows just under the seat, gives stability to the structure while the upper part opens up like the petals of a blossom and offers comfort and rest to the back and the arms.
The triangular, open-weave pattern strongly identifies the product and gives it an airy appearance.
Mixing strips of different daring colours like green, white, orange and turquoise, gives the traditional weave a new and more dynamic life.
