Giopato & Coombes
Born in Treviso in 1978, Cristiana Giopato graduated in industrial design from the Polytechnic University of Milan and later in architecture at the IUAV University of Venice. After an internship at Makio Hasuike’s studio, she collaborated with Patricia Urquiola until she opened her own studio with Christopher Coombes.
Born in Bristol in 1979, Christopher Coombes graduated in Industrial Design from Brunel University in London. After moving to Milan, he worked for George Sowden and later for Sebastian Bergne, gaining expertise in the industrial design field.
In 2006, the two started collaborating with several brands and turned their activity into Giopato & Coombes in 2016, a brand whose projects find complete expression, from conception to the final production.
For Cristiana Giopato and Christopher Coombes, designing means finding the synthesis between the emotion of conception and the pragmatism of innovation. All their collections are characterised by a sophisticated composure, the result of innovative research paths and the use of noble materials.
